"To follow is an actual account of events that epitomises the NSP level of service and culture.

At the beginning of the month
(Feb 06) we were experiencing some niggly problems with our server.  Didn’t seem like much but I requested one of the NSP techs to remote in and let me know if he could see anything.  He came back a short time later and said it was very odd as he was unable to see the server at all.  A few more phone calls and a bit of testing showed that the network server was failing.  I would suspect that in any organisation this is a major.  The tech at NSP stayed in regular contact with me until 8.30pm in the evening where it was ascertained that the server had in fact failed and the skill needed to repair any damage was well beyond my capabilities.  To say I was panicking would be an understatement.  Without any hesitation the NSP staff said “I’ll get in my car and I’ll be there as soon as I can”.  Not bad considering we are based in Taumarunui.  He arrived at our offices at midnight, loaded up with cans of ‘V’ and firing on all cylinders.  He worked through the night and it was impressive to watch someone work with that amount of focus.  Something else I noticed was his support from other NSP staff.  If he struck a problem, regardless of the time, he was on the phone to another of his colleagues – they were there to support him as much as he was here to ‘fix’ us.  He managed to get the system operating by 7.30am, just in time for the first of the King Country Energy staff to start arriving.  He stayed until the afternoon sorting our random niggles and then headed back to Auckland.

It is comforting to know we have that sort of support, expertise and experience at our service.  I am confident they have my back and, effectively, that of the company I work for.  They are never more than a phone call away, nothing is too hard, no question too dumb and they are happy to train the customer to a level of self-sufficiency – which in effect lowers the costs.  Just can’t say enough about them really and think that most companies could learn the meaning of “customer service” from them."
